Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Hi-Jack, operated by Tinker Apps Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account you agree to them.

1. Who Can Use Hi-Jack

You must be at least 13 years old. You must provide a phone number you control and verify it by SMS; your carrier's message and data rates may apply. You are responsible for activity on your account.

2. How Hi-Jack Works

Hi-Jack lets friends send each other photos intended to be set as a Lock Screen. Setting a wallpaper happens through Apple's Shortcuts app and is entirely voluntary — we cannot set your wallpaper, and we cannot verify that anyone kept one. Timers and "locks" in the app are a game mechanic, not a restriction on your device.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Hi-Jack to send, post, or generate:

• harassing, bullying, hateful, threatening, or violent content;
• sexual content, nudity, or anything sexualising a minor;
• content impersonating another person;
• content that infringes someone else's rights, including images of people who have not agreed to appear;
• anything illegal, or encouraging illegal acts.

You also agree not to attempt to circumvent limits in the app, access another account, or use the Service in a way that burdens our infrastructure.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of what you send. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and deliver it for the purpose of operating the Service — for example, resizing a photo, adding the Hi-Jack watermark, and showing it to the people you sent it to. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies already delivered to other users.

5. Generate with AI

Hi-Jack Plus can generate images from a description using OpenAI. You are responsible for the prompts you write and the images you send. Do not generate images of real people without their agreement, and do not attempt to generate content prohibited in section 3. Generated images may be unexpected or inaccurate. Generation is subject to a monthly allowance shown in the app, which we may change.

6. Hi-Jack Plus Subscriptions

• Hi-Jack Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID.
• Prices and plan lengths are shown in the app before purchase, in your local currency.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Any free trial period is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms; we cannot issue them.
• Plus features may change as the app develops. If we remove a significant feature you paid for, you may cancel.

7. Reporting, Blocking and Moderation

Anyone can block or report an account or an image. Blocking is immediate and prevents contact in both directions. We review reports and may remove content, suspend, or permanently terminate an account. We may act without notice where there is a risk to someone's safety.

8. Ending Your Account

You may delete your account at any time from Settings; what this does and does not remove is described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms. Subscription periods already paid for are not refunded on termination for breach.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Hi-Jack is provided "as is" and is under active development. Features may change or be withdrawn without notice. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties and limit our total liability to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months or CAD $50. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms and will revise the effective date above. Continuing to use Hi-Jack after a change means you accept it.
